Introducing Yourself Part 4

Today, we’re going to draft it. Editing is for later. Put your phone on do not disturb, close every other computer-window and give yourself the option of writing or just sitting there. (You’ll thank me later).

A reminder: You are making a page that people will read when they are considering buying your services.

The outcomes that we hope for from this page is to make it a no brainer for the right person and place you firmly in the mind of everyone else as the person who does X. Someday in the future when a friend of theirs is talking about X, they might remember you and recommend you. Or someday in the future when they have a need for X, they might remember you.

So long as we achieve those outcomes, pretty much nothing is off the table.

Keeping all this in mind, let’s launch into the next activity.

ACTIVITY FOUR: DRAFT

You will need:

  • your writing from the past three days
  • about 30 minutes

Directions:

Look at all of your work from yesterday and highlight the most compelling ideas you’ve written. By compelling, I mean the most important to your target customer, the most important to you, anything that–at the gut level–feels important. This shouldn’t take a few minutes (timer optional).

Check out the first highlighted idea and start writing. Write until every idea has been written.
